Patrick Meehan completed his PhD in the Department of Development Studies at SOAS, University of London, in 2016. His research interests are focused on the political economy of drugs and state formation in post-colonial Burma/Myanmar, specifically Shan State. He has been conducting field research in both Burma and on the Thai-Burma border since 2011.
